Navigating our way through COVID-19

Here at SoilEssentials, we are attempting to maintain as near to a ‘business as usual’ approach as we hurdle the ever-evolving challenges that the COVID-19 outbreak sets in our path. SoilEssentials is all about family, therefore the welfare of our staff and customers is of utmost importance. We have been looking to do more than the government recommendations wherever practicable and have implemented the following steps to minimise risks.

SALES

The sales department is continuing to operate as normal however, to minimise non-essential interaction we will be using virtual meetings, mobile phones and email where possible.  Where  on-site customer visits are necessary, government recommendations are followed. Due to the current worldwide crisis, we want to highlight that suppliers are also having to cope with restrictions and this in turn means that customers may experience a slight delay in the supply of certain products.

AGRONOMY

The agronomy team are also  operating as close to normal as possible. Our team are still out soil sampling and taking the necessary precautions to maintain social distancing and conform to stringent hygiene standards. At this point there are no issues with the lab, but we are monitoring this closely and will address any changes that may arise.

MACHINE CONTROL

Our technical team and field engineers continue to support our customers both by telephone and carrying out installations on-site. We are undertaking the following actions to allow the continuation of daily business while limiting the risks to staff and customers. Engineers on-site are following government recommendations and utilising additional PPE, support is being provided remotely where possible, measures are being taken to activate and train customers on remote support software where relevant. Overnight stays are off resulting in a reduction in serviceable area, but plans are being executed to service these areas by means of trusted partners.

OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATION

Our office staff have been offered remote working where possible, so our headquarters are currently operating with a skeleton crew with the majority of office staff, including our entire software development team, working this way.

As the future impact of COVID-19 is unpredictable, we will remain on standby to adapt accordingly to continue to meet our customers’ needs while protecting our staff, customers and community.
