Jim Wilson
Jim is the Technical Director for the company. He is actively farming at Hilton of Fern Farm, growing cereals, oil seed rape and potatoes. Jim was also awarded the Nuffield Scholarship in Precision Agriculture in 2004.
Robert Ramsay
Robert is the Sales Director for the company. He manages his family estate at Kimblethmont, and is also actively farming.
Rod Armour
Rod started working for Soilessentials in August 2009. He is the Sales Manager for the company, and is responsible for the sales and marketing. Studied Agriculture at Elmwood college in the late 80's and has worked in sales and management for a variety of Agricultural businesses.
Sam Illingworth
Sam joined the sales team at Soilessentials in June 2011 and is based in North Humberside covering his surrounding area and the north of England. He brings with him a wealth of agricultural and sales experience gained from previous roles within the industry.
Alison Easson
Started working for Soilessentials in June 2011 and is responsible for effectively co-ordinating all soil sampling, drainage and area measuring work. Alison was born and brought up in North Yorkshire spending the past 20 years a farmers wife near Kirriemuir where the family farm beef and cereals. Alison achieved a HND in Office Admin & I.T from Angus College in 2008.
David Crozier
Started working for Soilessentials in September 2002 taking soil samples and area measuring. Now semi-retired, David processes lime application maps, soil sampling reports and Crop services programmes on a part time basis. He has been involved in farm work for 10 years and farm management for 31 years.
Graham Ralston
Graham has been with the company since April 2007 running the engineering and technical side of the business. His primary role is with machine control but also helps with the day to day running of the business. He holds a BSc Hons in Mechatronics from the University of Abertay, Dundee. He was previously employed by Aker Kvaerner as a Subsea Controls Engineer.
David Wilson - Technician
David joined the team at Soilessentials in August 2011 and has brought to the company 19 years of experience operating, servicing, repairing and fitting a huge range of plant machinery.
Andrew Kerr - Jnr Technician
Andrew joined the team at Soilessentials in August 2011 with an NQ in Countryside Management and 4 years agricultural experience.
Malcolm Smith
Malcolm joined Soilessentials in August 2011 after a long term relationship with the company as our Information Technology Manager to support the continued growth of the company and lead the new service package for "Office to Field" services. Malcolm will focus on the I.T. side of the business and as his farming experience grows shall also support the agricultural technologies. Malcolm has 18 years experience working at senior technical positions within the I.T. industry having worked for several international corporations allowing him to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to ensure delivery of first class customer service.
Simon Arnot
Simon joined Soilessentials in August 2011 to work on a new software development project for the business. He has 10 years software development experience and previously worked for C2 software creating web applications for various organisations.
Kenny Waring
Started working for the company in July 2009. He is the administrator and accounts manager for the company. Currently studying towards the ACCA qualification after having qualified for the AAT membership. Previously worked in IT with UPS on a busy European Technical Support help desk and with Tele and Data Communications while in The Royal Signals.
Gill Wilson
PA to Jim since the rapid growth of the company in the late 90's. Organising the director's schedules and event management, form the majority of the working role. However Gill also proof reads material and writes advertising material as required. Previous employment history includes Physiotherapist at Glasgow Western Infirmary, Assistant Manager lending, admin and marketing for Nat West Bank PLC, Tour Guide Glamis Castle and Lecturer at Angus College.
