A one off soil scan that deliniates soil zones and then samples that identify these zones into true soil types. Ideal for general management, variable irrigation and varying seed rates.
The EMI or Verris scan can see changes in soil type. Soil type is an important measure for soil management. It can be part of the information that is gathered to create soil management zones 1. The main inputs that are varied by soil type are seed and irrigated water. Different soil types can hold onto and supply water to plants in different ways. Varying apllications of water allows it to be used more accuratly. Placing water probes in areas of known soil texture helps to ensure that the measuring system is more representative. Seed rate can be sensibly varied when establishment varies due to changes in soil type and when the soil type varies enough to require different seed rate to produce a consistant quality across a varying yield.
