Autosteer
Soilessentials offer innovative steering solutions that give you the accuracy you need at a fraction of the cost. Mojo RTK from Leica, 2 inch accuracy 99% of the time for perfect straight lines. Reichhaardt sensor and GPS based steering that uses structures within field to achieve accuracy without GPS. Ideal for root crop harvesting.
Overlaps and skips do not improve crop performance. Autosteer solutions can save money by drastically reducing cultivation and seeding overlaps and so spraying overlaps. Fuel, metal, labour time and depreciation are all saved. Also the quality of the job is improved, perfect straight beds lead to less damage and higher yields (less wastage). Removing the steering job from the operator allows him to concentrate on the important other jobs at hand.
Not all autosteer systems are the same; DGPS is accurate enough for fertilising and spraying without tramlines. With DGPS HP you can add drilling and sometimes creating ridges but it requires a signal fee to be paid and sometimes a long wait if the differential signal is lost.
RTK allows the maximum accuracy available with no signal fees and good reliability and up-time.
There are other systems available (Reichhaardt) that can see or sense structures in the field such as crops or buds. This can be extremely accurate.
